Hello, My Name is Mark Aplet. I am a Sacramento based web and interaction designer currently employed by Page Design Group —one of Sacramento's longest standing design studios with more than 30 years in the business.
I predominantly work in the web field, designing user interfaces, front-end coding with XHTML/CSS, as well as some back-end coding with Adobe ColdFusion. Even though I spend the majority of my time work on the web, I also have skills in print design and print production. After all you can never forget your first love.
I think of my self as a "generalist". I dabble in many forms of creative expression, including photography, videography, graphic arts, interface design, and music. I am a life long student, and love to learn new things. Nothing makes me more happy than learning a new application, a new programming language, or a new technique for a familiar task.
This site serves as an outlet for my creativity, learning experiences, and my desire to teach others what I have struggled to learn on my own. I hope that through the bumps and bruises I have had to endure, I would have an opportunity to help someone else, giving back to the community that has supported me so graciously through the years.
When I am not crafting websites, pushing pixels, or learning a new trick. I can be found spending time decompressing in the wilderness with my wife, (BFF) and my crazy and mildly neurotic Golden Retriever "Henna" offroading in a heavily modified 1942 Jeep.
I am sure I am about to state the obvious, but I am going to say it anyway. I'm not a professional blogger. To be honest, I consider myself a horrible writer. I am however trying my best.
