Hello, My Name is Mark Aplet. I am a Sacramento based designer currently employed by Page Design Group. (Yes I know their website stinks but it existed long before I came on board. The good news is that I have started a new design for the company. It won't be long before it's up and running)
I predominantly work in the web field, creating user interfaces, front-end code, as well as some back-end coding. That does not mean I am a web only designer. I also have skills in print design and production. I am also expanding into the field of software interface design.
I am a self proclaimed "generalist". I dabble in all forms of creative expression, including photography, videography, graphic art, interface design, and music. My broad range of talent has allowed me to work in industries or in capacities that others have not ben able to. I think that is one thing that I covet more than anything. My ability to adapt and have a great time doing it.
This site serves as an outlet for my creativity, and desire to teach others what I have struggled to learn on my own. I hope that through the bumps and bruises I have had to endure, I would have an opportunity to help someone else and give back to the community that has supported me graciously through the years.
I am sure it is obvious right from the start, but I am going to say it anyway. I'm not a professional blogger, I don't even concider myself to be a good writer. To be honest, I think I am a horible writer. I am trying my best and hope that in time I will get better. If you have suggestions for improvement please leave me a comment.
